What is the thermal protection of the building

Thermal protection of a building is a measure that reduces heat exchange between indoor and outdoor environments, particularly between rooms that have a different temperature. Requirements for the thermal protection of the building are binding in the Building Act and in Act no. 406/2000 Coll. on energy management. This obliges builders to comply with the requirements of buildings and their construction in terms of low energy and thermal protection. It applies not only to new buildings but also to building modifications , maintenance work and changes in the use of buildings. The thermal protection of new buildings is defined by ČSN 73 0540 - in 2011 the new version of ČSN 73 0540-2 was published. This standard applies without exception to all new buildings.
