Pergola is an interesting element in the garden, so you need to select a pergola and place it so that it works tastefully and sensitively complement the garden space. It can happen that the self-extinguishing garden structure will be disturbing, if we place it in an inappropriate place.

Location of the building

The pergola should be positioned to suit the purpose of its use. If we want to start quietly in our favorite book somewhere in the corner of our garden, we will probably prefer the pergola away from the house. If we want to place a fireplace in the pergolas, where we will meet family and friends, it is better to place the pergola closer to the house. In this case, it is worth considering the pergola to the wall of the house.

Pergola roofing

Expert books say that the pergola has air walls and roofs, but the current trend is rather for pergola roofing. Very interesting and light will be a thick cluster of climbing plants, then let's say the possibility to use pergola in worse weather. While the pergola was once roofed with planks, modern materials are used today.

Suitable roofing

At present, polycarbonate pergol is a very popular material for roofing. Polycarbonate is light and resistant not only to mechanical damage but also to UV radiation. Polycarbonate roofing can be made in different color variations. Its advantage is that it is almost maintenance-free. However, if we want to wash it, it is advisable to get some soapy water. Polycarbonate boards are very delicate for chemical preparations.

Plants planting around pergolas

After the completion of the construction work, the pergola should be enhanced with suitable plants. For each plant, we should have at least 1 m2 of soil, but with respect to the foundation of the pergola. Carefully peel the soil around the pergola and remove any debris, weeds and residues from other plants. We incorporate compost or other fertilizer into the soil. For the plant, we pit the pit about twice as large as its root ball. Plant the plant carefully, cover it with soil and pour thoroughly.
