Presently, we can not imagine life without heat, light or machinery. These are, however, dependent on energy whose consumption is still rising. And if we try our best, rising energy consumption has a negative impact on nature. In the past and nowadays, natural gas reserves, created for millions of years, are being consumed drastically, and there is a need to seek and use renewable energy sources, while at the same time trying not to disturb the ecosystem.

Heat pump

The basic principle of the heat pump was first invented and described by English physicist William Thomson Kelvin in 1852. The idea came, as it happens, by chance. He performed deep-freeze attempts and accidentally touched the freezer outlet pipe and burned. Thus, the idea of connecting the outlet of the freezer with the DHW cylinder was created. And by means of a fan, then a warm loop of air was poured into the house by a pipe loop.

Heat pump function principle

It is a device that takes heat at relatively low temperatures, from air, from surface water, from underground, etc. The heat pump needs some energy to operate, consuming about one-third of its power in the form of electric power to drive the compressor. The remaining two thirds are then converted to heat, which is further utilized. The pump operates on the closed loop principle. On the one hand, the low temperature heat takes off (water, air, etc.) and transfers the heat to the other.

Types of heat pumps

The conversion of heat to lower can be achieved in various ways. The most suitable ones are those that require minimal drive power to ensure energy efficiency. We can not influence the temperature of the source, but the temperature of the portable substance in the pump can be affected. Heat pumps can be compressor, absorber or hybrid. There are also pumps that use other principles, but their efficiency is usually lower. But even they can find a job. Especially for non-traditional energy transfer solutions.

Heat pump water in the pool

Heat pumps for pool water heaters reduce the cost of running the pool and outdoor whirlpools. In addition, we can extend the bathing season by several months using the heat pump. However, it is necessary to select the pump with respect to the amount of heated water in the pool. For swimming pools and whirlpools, compressor heat pumps are the most suitable.
